    62. Too many hits to grade higher.

I’m going to say MS63. I think on a “normal” coin this would be a 62 due to the prominent hits on the obverse but I think the well above average strike on this piece gives it a bump.

So I’m at MS63. Lovely coin.

I agree with MS 62. Typical weak strike.

Nice coin. The jaw damage draws the eye directly to it, MS-62. Good luck.

    63 or 64 - I'll go with 64.

Thanks for all the appraisals! Man-o-man, big difference on the Price Guide between 63 and 64. I really like this one. Bought several silver dollars from ads in Coins and Coinage mag back in the early '90s. This one worked out good.

Very nice. PCGS priceguide has recently updated to saying that is a $1000 coin now.

That's a nice one. My first thought was MS-62.

Woa! That is not a $1000 coin. That is retail for a solid 1921 in a PCGS holder. That is what a dealer would try to get, assuming it was a PCGS certified coin. ANACS coins sell for considerably less. Realistically, it is a $750 coin at best. While it is an attractive example of that date, it is a low in grade 63 to me, and not either NGC or PCGS certified. That is totally comparing apples and oranges. If you sold it back to a dealer, figure it is selling back to a dealer for $500. They don’t use Price Guide; they go by wholesale prices on Greysheet.

Still good, I paid $99 back in nineteen-ninety-something.

To me...me...agree to disagree with grade and others...think it's better than 63 from following standpoint...but of course it's all subjective sh-- given grader(s), company, any given day, mood, hangover, etc: have seen FAR worse on faces than this, on other graded 63s AND 64s. Everything about that coin, save for the face marks which really aren't too bad...not enough to degrade it to 63... is a solid 64, IMO, based on photos and TPG.
