I informed the seller about this obvious fake, (wrong reverse, and other problems too numerous to list); he thanked me but has not taken it down. TIme for action. https://www.ebay.com/itm/133786199825 THANKS!
Well, if "done", it's still up as of 9:30pm...it has 5 bids and not so sure it's fake...but I'm no expert/authority, if with a good eye for detail and common sense/cents. Not sure how eBay handles this sort of thing...pretty sure they don't just kick the seller and/or his listing off...can't imagine without some evidence beyond a claim, but don't know for sure.
EBay isn't going to do anything itself. EBay only cares about the profit it makes from EVERY sale, whether the item is genuine or fake. If the seller is honest and/or reasonable and he is approached about it properly, he will generally, after checking and/or confirming the claim, remove or correct the listing. I often let sellers know of any problem with their items. The honest ones almost always correct any problems. Good Luck
Someone unfortunately bought it. I've never seen a CC mint mark that looked like that one. Fake as hell.
I got the we looked everywhere logo. Isn't that pulled from the site? If it was sold we would either have another link, or a bit further to just scroll?
for those who aren't sure if it's fake, it has a type 1 reverse which wasn't used after 1876. please see here: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/how-do-you-spot-fake-trade-dollars-anyway.63695/ It also has mushy details, bad dentils, doubled letters where none should exist, it is basically a compendium of everything that can be bad on a fake.
