Desirable Date-Undesirable Damage

    This is the 1909-S, VDB of the two cent series. I been plugging two cent holes in a Dansco and absolutely loathe empty holes in a coin book. So I settled on this one. I am sure it spent some time in the ground. Too bad as it looks like it could have been a nice coin before it was damaged. Oh well, at least I got my hole plugged!

    There are two ways to deal with holes. Sometimes it's best to throw the Dansco away.

    My approach is that if you don't come across the coin in the general course of your hobby then the hole doesn't exist yet. I'm still waiting to find mine in circulation.

    Ha! Probably not going to pull a two cent out of the till these days!! And actually I know me. I pull out my coins and go through them several times a week. My Dansco’s? Once they get filled, I seldom open them back up. So I can justify crummy coins in a Dansco. At least that’s what I tell myself anyway!
