I'd go with almost EX Fine because 1908-S tend to have weaker strikes.

Photos are pretty good. Nicely in focus and still good focus when blown up. Color looks pretty good. It looks like there's a little glare on the reverse at the top of the bow which makes me think you might have used only one light or maybe had it angled shallowly. Sometimes you have to do the shallow angle with low relief coins. So, if you only used one light, you might try two.

To my eyes the coin is a VF-30 trending towards VF-35. Under current market grading for keys and semi-keys, I would not be surprised to see it get holdered at EF-40.

The color makes me think it's been cleaned. Where's the patina that should be on a coin with enough circulation to make it VF?

  14. This was conserved. If you look at it real close, you will see some signs of evo that has been slowed down and stopped.

VF-20, looks cleaned to me also. To many variables in the tone, wear, and gouges. I like the coin but it has seen better days, in my opinion.

VF. Either cleaned, or the image makes the coin brighter than it actually is.

VF-30. From the provided photos, cleaned might be an issue, but it’s not 100% certain.

I can't see where you think it may be cleaned. The coin has to much crud on it to give me the impression of being cleaned. I think the lighting when it was photographed could lighten the surfaces. Also there were some problems with the alloys at times with Indian cents so that can affect how it looks. Looks normal to me for a mid grade 1908-S cent.

Cant be more than VF. Where the ribbon with the diamonds crosses the hair is worn flat.

My compliments, I think they're very good. I'm at VF35, too.
