Hey everyone . I've had this set for several years given to me as a Gift . I'm worried the Value may have come way down and I wonder if the Value may go up . It's the 2004 Wisconsin Coin which contains a Normal, extra lower leaf and extra higher leaf . I know the person paid $700 years ago .
So what happened is that so many of the high and low leaf were found after those sets were put together that they aren't as rare. So the price dropped Cool gift though.
If I recall correctly, these sets were selling for over $1000.00 and have dropped as is became apparent as to the actual number of them. A mint employee caused this high and low leaf variety by deliberately scratching the die during routine maintenance. I think these set are currently in the $500-600 price range.
Why worry about something you have absolutely no control over...? It was, is, and will be whatever. Hold onto it...it must have meaning to you aside from monetary value...so take heart, don't worry, and enjoy it.
That is a beautiful set Sal. You're very fortunate to receive such a great gift. A keeper forever! I love it!!!
Yes I agree with everyone . Cool Set ! One of my pride and joys ! My Bro' and Law gave it to me for doing a very important "job" for him watching over something . It was well worth it . They sparkle the colors of rainbows too . Its my favorite sets . I still get giddy when I look at it .
MS65 sets like that selling at less than $400. There's two MS66 set like yours on ebay one listed for $995.00 OBO, and $699.00 BIN and neither is sold, you could click Watch on them and see if they ever move and what it sells for if it does.
I live in WI and have not got an extra leaf quarter yet in circulation. Envious of your generous gift. Lucky you, enjoy!
It's definitely a keeper. Great gift, keep it in the family, pass it on. Thanks for sharing it with us. Be safe.
