Are these worth much now (in circulated and non circulated), and would they increase in value in the future? or Would i be better off keeping these or putting them in the bank?
Depends on the year, star note, shape. Doubtful they'd be worth much. plus you'd have to post pictures. that'd be a big help.
Well I have some hundred from the 1990's some 80's and a 1977 and same goes for the 20's and 5's. There basically just regular dollars but with the old design.
in the future they i would think they'd bring some money. Just for the simple fact people will try to fill in holes and what not. i try to save the ones i find, but money is getting tight.
As time goes on, it will be harder to find the old designs, so they may be worth a slight premium especially in high condition (ironically less of one the higher the denomination is, since there's less demand for collecting high denomination notes unless they're esepcially old or a unique serial number). Not sure how many people collect by series, but I'm sure it'd be more likely with lower denominations than higher. If you can afford to keep them, go for it. Can always spend them later if you change your mind. Maybe save at least one of each design esepcially if they're in decent condition. The demand isn't really there yet, but it may be in the future if you don't mind holding on to them for a while.
I thought the redesigned $5 was pretty nice... your mileage will vary I guess. I just wish they'd redesign them more often. I'd especially like them to do something with the $1 bill that hasn't undergone any major design change in the last 45 years!
Yes they really need something new!! Have you heard about the new $100 kodachrome note dont know all the details but it sounds like What the doctor ordered!!
