    Hi all!

Does anyone know which emperor this is? I was thinking Septimus Severus, but I just want to make sure!

For what it's worth, that would be my first guess....

On portrait alone, if not S. Severus, it could be Pertinax. However, the beard looks a little too short and wispy, and the legends don't seem to jive either. Pertinax often has HELV in that section of the visible legend.

Can you make out any of the obverse legend at the top?

    PSE? PSA?

It's likely Aequitas (w/ cornucopia/scales) on the reverse.

Finding a legend match, if you can make any of it out, could help confirm it.

Similar? These are common from the Septimius Severus mint known as 'Emesa' but now better referred to as 'Syrian'. They come in quite a few different minor style variations and letter spacings. IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II / MONET AVG
