Yeah - they could remove the verdigris. But they won't be able to help the corrosion found under it :(

I just hate seeing that on such a high detail and better date Indian. Did you find it metal detecting or something?

I picked it up with some other coins I bought. It was a throw in with the other items and a date I needed for my IHC album. The cost was basically nothing. I know, good date and detail except for all of the green crud. :(

I was hoping it would clean up enough through NCS to look OK in my Dansco album.

The corrosion on the reverse is there forever. However, I've had very good luck removing this green crud (looks like Miracle Grow crystals) using acetone and MS70. Many times I've been able to remove the green crud without any telltale signs.

    1) I've never heard of those two people before. They must have been drinking. :p

    2) Put some acetone on a Q-Tip and roll it over the coin. See if it has any affect on the green crud. The Q-Tip will dry extremely fast, so keep it wet. If that doesn't work, you can do the same thing with MS70 and see if it helps, but on copper MS70 can strip the surface of all the luster, so you need to be very careful.

You can also try to loosen the crud with a toothpick. Be very careful.

If you're not comfortable doing the above, let NCS do it. Their costs are very reasonable.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. I don't want to try it on this coin, but I have some others I am willing to risk. Thanks again.
