Did I overpay?

    purchased a 1987 us contitution silver dollar today proof in perfect condition still with original mint boxes and certificate of authentation,being lazy and didn't want to look it up,whats it worth,I payed 18 dollars. It is a 90% silver, .76 oz, coin.

    Thats probably fine, even if its $2 over or something....

    If it was REALLY in PERFECT condition (PF70), then I'd say you did FANTASTIC!
    But even if it isn't, I'd say you did alright... I've seen them go higher in original packaging, and I've seen them go lower in original packaging

    thanks green 18! guessing this one is a 68 or 69 grade. Guess if nothing else its worth 13 to 14 as scrap silver;)

    Any dollar commemorative coin in MS condition for less than $20 is a good find. You did well.

    I think you did fine. If you had shopped around, you might have been able to pick it up a little cheaper...but you did fine. I hope you enjoy your new coin.

    If it's still original Mint packaged and hasn't been subjected to damage it's well worth what you paid. As a future silver bullion holding it's worth the 18 bucks. BUT the most important thing is, "Do you like it?".
