This is an older article but it popped up in my news feed tonight. As I was reading through a very well known name of a member here was mentioned. His opinion and knowledge carry a lot of weight everywhere I've seen and we are blessed to have him as a member here. https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/chinese-coin-counterfeiting-ring-4071202
I remember seeing this article as well but i do not remember where? But it is disturbing. What isn't China willing to do to earn a buck
Yeah, well, he's kind of new here. But FYI, @YankeeDime, Mike's one of the guys who started CONECA, and he's a longstanding member and contributor, here. So bless him, too, so his feelings don't get hurt.
All of the information and pictures in that article are a lot older than you realize. It was first posted here on CT back 2008, and several times after that. But it's a good thing to bring it all back so as to inform those who were not previously aware
Wow, that's impressive! We truly are blessed to have such highly regarded members in the coin community with us! The shear knowledge and experience of all the members hear to be able look at a coin and determine how, when and where a error, damage or intentional alteration occurred is amazing and invaluable to everyone looking for help. I have learned more in my short time hear than I have in years on my own. I am grateful to everyone hear and the knowledge they freely share.
Why was i edited? I mentioned i had seen this but could not remember where? ! dropped no names or references
As I said, I edited it to fix the quote tags. This is what your post looked like before I fixed it for you.
If one could get them to do current dates then the mint would save money by letting them produce our coinage. I'm joking, of course.
@YankeeDime Here I am with Fred Weinberg Met him twice! Very nice guy! I would like to one day meet Mike Diamond.
to be honest it was Fred Wineberg in the late 60's that got me started on coin collecting. (and the great interest in Errors). Thanks for getting me hooked Fred!!! (joking).
