Members of the Engravers Vignette Group: Acting on an idea I had a few weeks ago, I have created what I would like to call the Year 2010 Security Engravers Group Presentation Cover. (See Image below) The idea you see is to have a compilation of Presentations that render itself into a Presentation Memoir so to speak. SO while I am in the planning stages of this I wanted to get your feedback on this idea to create a Annual Hard Copy Version of the Presentations and make it available to all of us. As mentioned, I am in the planning phases and have not made a solid commitment to this yet. It would require I receive the Presentations in word format and images in 300 dpi so that I may work with the files for size and quality reasons. Please let me know how you feel about this and I would also like to have a little support if we end up doing this as it will be a ton of work. This Vignette is from a recent purchase and I thought it was exceedingly Graceful and Elegant. Regards, RickieB The Cover Image:
Thanks everyone for the responses thus far. Please let me take a moment to clarify something. If I decide to do this it will not be in form of a "real book".. An author I am not..just a biologist. (Thank goodness!!) If it is put together I would need the images you submit to be images you own, or have a copyright release form along with an image that is not yours. I would simply print it from my home studio (photography studio in the basement) and make some high quality copies for the members and mial them out in folder form. So again.. I am just thinking about it..it is and will be a huge amount of work..If I think I can pull it off, I will put all the details online here for you all to see. Regards, RickieB
What I will tell you guy's as a hint as to where this came from.. It is cold and lots of snow!! RickieB
I like the cover it looks very graceful RickieB. As for the project your thinking of doing I would have to ask you where are you going to find the time for this project??? Lou
I wonder if there is anything we could do as presenters to help this project go faster at the end??? Format output/source information/etc...
Lou... That is the biggie for sure. The way I work makes it hard to complete in a timely fashion. As it is I am getting more and more family time demands.. Darryl.. The ideal format for me would be word documet 8.5 x 11.5 inches. Margins set at 1", Title Centered... Images would need to be high quality Tiff files at least 3-5 MB Adobe RGB 1998 at 300 dpi so I could convert them to jpeg and size the right way. As mentioned.. I am just planning/considering..it may not happen at all. RickieB
Rickie .what Darryl & you just wrote is a foreign language to me,I don't even have word on my laptop,I love the idea of the book & the beautiful vignette, but I'm just self taught on my computer, still hunting & pecking.I would need a computer course to understand what you guys are talking about. Am I the only one that far behind the times or is it just me ? Duhhhhh ? connor1
Bob, Printing material is much more involved than posting on the Internet. As far as the presentations on CT go, do not worry too much. We can take the presentations and reformat them after to make publication better. The pictures are where I see it becoming a little difficult when you consider the many different sources we pull from. Online you want smaller resolution so the images load faster for slower users (connection speeds) but for really nice publications you want high resolution images. Again, do the best you can and we will see what we can do with it afterwards. I will help if Rick decides to move forward with it. Darryl
