might be your opportunity to get a good deal....doubt anyone else will bid with that shipping price......:secret: Or you could just let him know.

I wonder if it's the sellers way of cheating ebay out of the final sale price? Doesn't ebay get a % of the sale minus shipping and handling?

It's probably a simple error. I'd contact the seller if I had an interest in the coins...but I don't.

That's not an error. That's a seller 1)getting a guaranteed mimimum from the shipping and 2)bailing on the eBay fees.

If the total cost is acceptable, go for it. But--if there's a problem, how much help would you get from eBay considering you're helping the person scam them.

That is some kind of error he made. He is selling 6 sets of quarters, 3 have $1.36 for shipping, 2 have $5.70 and this one is $75.44. There is no way $75.44 is logical in that mess.

it is just how the seller manages to lower the cost and fees charged by ebay based on the final sale price. yes, it is a shady practice, but this is just between the seller and ebay, it really has no consequence on the buyer as long as the total price (sale price plus shipping and everything else) is acceptable.

Yes, but I think this case was a mistake.
eBay gets a percentage of the final sale price, not including shipping (Or at least I don't think)
So you can have your key date coin for $1, and charge $12,000 shipping.

    The seller pulled his listing.
