Here’s a few of mine. Feel free to post yours. They are neat collectibles and they commemorate places and/or events. I have shown both sides.
I sent you the last of mine so I have none to post. When I started my place I had a thousand made up for my guys to hand out to their customers. My guys thought it was a dud of an idea so I ended up passing them all out. I still think wooden nickels are cool though. They strike some childhood vibe in me or something.
I have them around here somewhere. Too many boxes and envelopes. The house looks like a warehouse. I hardly purchased any antiques for the shop last year and so far none this year. I just have too much. I still have 29 boxes of coins to go through. Why am I still buying them? I don’t know but I’m having fun doing it. I have 2 small coins orders and a small box with rocks all due in next week. Still no complaints from my wife and that’s a good thing.
AHHHHH Memories.. I remember that ole' ICE CREAM truck in my neighborhood called the "Dairy Clipper" that would pass out "wooden Nickels" when you bought a LARGE $.20 cone and gave him a Quarter. I have been looking for those Dairy Clipper wooden nickels from the early 60's. PLEASE post a picture if you have one. (gone nostalgic here)
wow I like that one a lot, never seen an Error wooden nickel misspelled. (seen a few off center but own none like that)
No wooden nickels here, but I have 2 British Columbia White Spruce dollars which are huge, US Silver dollar shown for size comparison
I’m waiting until someone or some company produces a wooden nickel for each state, presidents, flowers, trees.... Oh my, now I sound like the US Mint and quarters.
Hmmm, interesting thought. I think there's about 25 states represented in my post; maybe when I've nothing to do I may look for some more
