    What can you guys tell me about this qrtr ? Missing part of the O and the F is completely missing. In addition to the midding letters it also has a completly filled D. Its one of my favorite finds but i dont know anything about it and would appreciate some imput on it. How it could have occured and is it worth anything? Thanks in advance. I will be posting a couple more in the next 1/2 hr for the same reason.

    Ohh boy, I hope the next pics are up close and personal because I can't see crap :hilarious: with these eyes . I recommend Lunapic or Photocape ( two very good editing programs ).
    Good luck man .

    I believe the missing letter(s) are from what is called grease filled.

    Yes...grease or debris filled that part of the die...the term used most frequently is “struck through grease”...during the strike, the grease prevented the planchet metal from flowing into the clogged recesses of the die...jmho...Spark

    An editing program is only of use to make the image closely resemble the coin in hand. What it will not do is improve the quality of an image that is out of focus, blurred or badly lit. Tweaking all the levels will still leave an unfocused, badly lit image. When you have a satisfactory image on your PC, crop out all background leaving only the coin. When you have uploaded the image to your post, click the Full Image button as this will display a large version on-screen and allow members to give you a more accurate description of what they are seeing.

    Aa mentioned before struck through grease.
    Cool looking but not premium for it.
    Still worth 25 Cents.

    @SensibleSal66
    Let me help you out.. I just enlarged the thumbnail and cropped the area. No need for fancy programs. I just used what my cellphone provides ;)

    Click on the picture and it enlarges even more!

    It's often best that you resize the image after you have cropped out the background.

    Must depend on the system people use. The Photos program in Windows 10 enlarges the image automatically as you crop it on my PC.

    Good to know! I have Win10 on my desktop, but I use ACDSee for all of my photo editing.

    It has everything I need. Brightness, contrast, color, rotate etc. Only thing it doesn't have is a circular crop function.

    That's exactly what i do. Probably why my pics look exactly the same :angelic:

    I started using ACDSee in 2005 mainly because it stores all of my photos on my computer, and I didn't have to use a secondary source like Photobucket for posting my photos.

    What happened? The coin that is referenced was the topic and then it went to taking pictures. I agree that good pictures are important, but a whole thread?
    I don't remember anyone saying if the coin was worth more than face value. Is it?
