Littleton Website Down

Anyone noticed that Littleton's website has been down? I first noticed it on June 1st, right after Memorial Day. So it's been at least four days now - maybe more.

The official version of the explanation is that the site is undergoing upgrading. But I wonder if they're another victim of ransom ware. No company would shut down its site for 4 (or more) days. And if it were a planned event, there was no advance notification to their customers. I recall reading here on CoinTalk about how a member had his plumbing business attacked by ransom ware and ended up losing a lot of money. I really felt badly for him.

There must be IT gurus out there who are sharp enough to outsmart these extortionists.

Maybe they can pay the group that hacked them a small fee up front and then pay an inflated "subscription" for every month afterwards so that the group doesn't hack them again.

Payment in $10 "War Nickels" and "Proof Quarters" is forthcoming. Lol, those ransomware folks are terrorists in my view, but them hitting Littleton - if they did - well there is some dark humor in that.

@furryfrog02 , @MIGuy You guys put an idea in my head now. Maybe it's not Russian hackers but a disgruntled customer surprised by their Coins-On-Approval program?

Normally I'm on the side of the company that has been hacked...in this case, I have a hard time feeling bad for them...
Maybe it is someone trying to get their money back for their Silver/Gold/Platinum plated America the Beautiful Quarters in the Red Maple display case?

Why are you on their website anyways? o_O You can get the same coins for cheaper pretty much everywhere...

Sometimes though (but admittedly, not often), you can get a good deal. They sold this to me for only $19.95 about 3 months ago, which was below spot.

How did that happen? I'd buy an oz of silver for 20 bucks, haha

I've seen people post deals where you could get bullion for below melt. You just had to make sure to cancel their coins on approval program.

If you are on reddit, you should join the silverstackers subreddit.
People post the codes for these kind of deals every so often.
Again, be sure to cancel the coins-on-approval as soon as you can.

I saw an ad on Instagram and clicked on the link - but the link didn't work (due, presumably, to their IT problems).

As @furryfrog02 mentioned, the cheap one is the bait, then you get automatically enrolled in their COA (Coins-On-Approval) program. And that's when they charge you a whole lot more. You just have to cancel then.

I used to be on Reddit but I realized its a huge time suck. Not to mention all of the bad stuff on there.

But it is also a really good resource if you go on the correct subreddits ;)
