So here we are at the end of 2009, we have seen the end of the state quarter program, and added the territories. now we go head long into 2010 with the new national park program that some of us, including me will not see to its end. we also get 4 more new presidents, a new penny that will be with us for who knows how long. Another dollar that is not called a Sac. but for the life of me at 1:00 in the am and a few beers, can't remember what we are calling them now. Text just started going slanted on me don't know why. We are also wondering what will happen with ASE's and now we are going to have 3" bullion coins that will not fit in any album we have. I'm just looking ahead but would like to take this time to thank all of you on Coin Talk who have helped me this year and may you all have a merry christmas and a happy new year. I hope can spend another year collecting with you all!!!!:hail::hail:
I'm looking forward to the new Shield cent - it will be the first new, permanent change to the Lincoln cent in my lifetime, not counting the change to a zinc core in 1982. I also look forward to seeing those new National Park quarters. Here's to a prosperous 2010 - and all of us seeing every last one of those 50 (or 100) different National park Quarters
I'll only be collecting the Nat'l Parks coins out of circulation and trying to trade for the ones I can't find. I was buying the state coins by the unc roll, but no more. I rather my money go toward older (pre-1965) coins.
My question, as we near 2010, is when will we see any business strike 2009 D nickels or dimes...........they haven't been seen anywhere yet.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well, biggiej, and I will hoist a beer in your honor this morning ... er, evening. A Belgian one at that! I'll wait and form my opinion on the Lincoln reverse when I actually see it ...
I agree, it will be nice to see that horrible memorial design finally retired from the cent. I won't collect them, but my change will look a bit better Guy~
