Not a complete zero morning. Found a '41 nickel that I'm not posting out of embarrassment. Important thing is, i found something for @Copper lover with an S on it. This is 2 days in a row with no W mint marks. I think they've moved on. I'm happy. Means other people can find some. S
NOT FOUND, PURCHASED. I don't know why. Maybe because it has an S on it. And it was only 13.50, free shipping. Who knows
Same, who knows. I think i forgot i won that 4 pack the night before, and i really wanted one. And it was only 3.50, free shipping.
No shame in a 1938 nickel! I keep all that i find, as they are fairly difficult to find in circulation. I keep all 1938, P, D, & S, and all 1939-D & S, as i believe there is a slight premium for these. (plus all war nickels i can find!) Keep these finds coming, i love seeing what you come up with every day!
Thank you. If i had spent 15 more, i could have really had a beauty. But my mind says, for 15 more, you could have TWO. and i invariably go with the 2, rather than the better, single coin.
I've only found about seven '38s, and i think only one has a mint mark. Very rare. And thank you, I'll keep em coming, as long as you guys keep showing up. Oh who am i kidding, I'll just keep posting, lol.
P.S. I am now focusing on Barber Half Dollars, Morgan Dollars, Waking Liberties and Standing Liberty Quarters. I will be able to return the favor soon Hopefully as I get duplicate years.
No no no, no "returning favors". I find coins in every day circulation, that i pay face value for. I'm happy to share. Thank you though!
Another amazing gift from another amazing CTer. As everyone on the site knows, i find a lot of modern coin stuff. Lots of silver in circulation still. Then i found out about the W mint marks, and things went a little crazy there. I think I've found 60 in circulation. I gave 3 away in a contest here, sent one to @Randy Abercrombie, just because. And I'd send him a dozen more (not of the butterfly, i only have 3 of those!), so that's 4 that have entered and left my hands, already. The one i thought I'd never find, I've found two of, the American Memorial Park, and i only found the second AFTER this transaction, but @Beardigger was reading my mind, i guess. This guy, this unbelievably generous guy, we discussed a swap, i thought W for W, then he starts mentioning halves. I don't really have any, and i thought I'd made a mistake in inquiring, but @Beardigger couldn't have been cooler. He was content to swap a W for a W. Only one i needed was the Lowell, and he was OK with a swap for a Marsh-Billings. Great, i put his in the mail last Tuesday and hoped for a safe arrival. @Beardigger alerted me to it's arrival, his took a few days longer, arriving on Tuesday, this week. I asked the Mrs if the mail had arrived yet. No. An hour later, she tells me there's an envelope with 2 coins in it addressed to me. I get a little sick to my stomach thinking i received the wrong package. I ask her to leave it be, and I'll take care of when I'm home. Too late, i opened it. It's for you, there's a note. Which she reads. It seems @Beardigger is one of the good guys. There's my Lowell W, along with a Lowell S! @Beardigger had been watching my thread, seeing my new fascination with the S mint mark, and sent me one of those, as well. Just because. It was all there in a lovely note from @Beardigger. I felt like such a heel. I didn't write a note to him or @Randy Abercrombie when i sent their stuff out, sheesh, what's wrong with me? Anyway, thanks again @Beardigger for your generosity. I'm learning what it means to truly be a member of this community. I hope i can only live up to these examples that have been shown to me. W And S! Thank you again, all the amazing people at CT. I'll post the full sets later. Getting lunch now, lol.
