Thanks for the advice. It is a mad house on Ebay....no thanks. I think I will get several graded by PCGS and maybe trade one for a V75 that I missed out on

Not rubbing salt in the wound, I have Hughes satellite Internet. Smoke signals are faster. I got booted 5 times. finally it stopped. But was almost an hour before I got the email. I won't deny I was lucky. But that's how I started in 2008 when I bought 10 Silver Eagles. 7 were the reverse error. Been here since. Have a safe day all

    What a joke. I think I will stick with the '21s - the 1921s.

So I hope that they are going to honor the confirmed orders they already have for the "CC" and the "O" privy. I checked my CC a few days ago and there was a $170 charge showing. Just checked and now it is gone. I don't care if they delay it while maybe actually fixing a problem or two, but don't start over when I finally got lucky.

  7. It should be listed under pending charges.

Nope not listed there or anywhere. Oh well we shall see.

I really don't think it is going to make a difference. There will be some unhappy customers as always. The only thing that will work is to made-to-order which would also make some unhappy because it would make the coins worth next to nothing.
I would like to have one but not at the cost of them being worth nothing but silver.

Just checked my debit card statement from b of a, not there either, was earlier though. My order (order # and email address) still shows on backorder. I think another cup of coffee will fix this!

edit add: This is day 7. maybe bank just auto deletes things :0

They initially hit the cards to make sure funds are available before locking up the order. Then the charge is removed until it's shipped in October. The same process happened for everyone.

Because, of course, whether or not the funds are available now is completely relevant to whether they'll be available in October.

Glad someone else picked up on that, i.e. system failure due to the high demand of silver. Yep... we're really after that low-cost mint silver. I'd much rather pay $85 dollar an ounce than $30.

Why not... it's hard to fathom (even amongst execs at the US Mint) that a highly-regarded product of the US mint being produced in record-low numbers could actually generate interest, much less demand!

Yeah I'm sure everyone was thinking the same. It almost seems like the first pair going on sale was a test. Minds were blown by the demand. Then it started dawning on them that they were asking people to tie up hundreds of dollars on cards for 5 months and hoping there will still be credit remaining come October. What if your card gets hacked and the card has to be canceled? I guess you just lose your order!
I can't figure out any other reason for the pre-sale. It's possible they just wanted to sell them in August or September anyway. A pre-sale is meaningless to the buyer while serving as a real world test run for the mint.
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see them for sale again until September. Like I said, the only thing left to go wrong is they aren't able to produce them at all and they get cancelled.
After all this hype they'll probably have twice the people on jamming the website for the next releases. Maybe 5x as many for the Peace if not more. If they really fix the website you'll probably have a "minute to get it."

  15. In a message released Friday, May 28, we made reference to a global shortage of silver. In more precise terms, the silver shortage being experienced by the United States Mint pertains only to the supply of silver blanks among suppliers to the U.S. Mint.

Please see the updated message below reflecting this clarification.

The United States Mint is committed to providing the best possible online experience to its customers. The Mint is being impacted by silver blank shortages among its suppliers. The demand for many of our bullion and numismatic products is at record heights and increasingly outpacing the supply of silver blanks available through our suppliers. This level of demand is felt most acutely by the Mint during the initial product release of numismatic items. Most recently in the pre-order window for 2021 Morgan Silver Dollars with Carson City privy mark (21XC) and New Orleans privy mark (21XD), the extraordinary volume of web traffic caused significant numbers of Mint customers to experience website anomalies that resulted in their inability to complete transactions.

In the interest of properly rectifying the situation, the Mint is postponing the pre-order windows for the remaining 2021 Morgan and Peace silver dollars that were originally scheduled for June 1 (Morgan Dollars struck at Denver (21XG) and San Francisco (21XF)) and June 7 (Morgan Dollar struck at Philadelphia (21XE) and the Peace Dollar (21XH)).

While inconvenient to many, this deliberate delay will give the Mint the time necessary to obtain web traffic management tools to enhance the user experience. As demand remains greater than supply, the reality is such that not everyone will be able to purchase a coin. However, we are confident that during the postponement, we will be able to greatly improve on our ability to deliver the utmost positive U.S. Mint experience that our customers deserve. We will announce revised pre-order launch dates as soon as possible.

More than $85. The coins only have about .83 oz of silver so it's about $102 an ounce.

If I want bullion I'll buy a roll of silver quarters. If I want a 100 year anniversary Morgan (or several) I have to pay $85 to the mint or $2 to $300 on ebay.

I saw this this afternoon and laughed. So the updated message was not to deny the shortage... It's simply to tell us that the shortage is not caused by anything the mint did wrong, and only that its those "inept" suppliers that are out of silver!! (Call them?) ......WHEWWW! Well!.... well shucks! Glad they cleared the air on that one. Thank you US Mint. Everybody can put the Xanax back in the cabinet. We have pure clarity now.
I gotta stop writing before I get banned for rules violations here. This is a comedy now.

  20. Order Update

    Dear XXX,

Thank you for your Morgan Dollar purchase supporting this historic program’s centennial anniversary. We are grateful for your support and are excited to offer the Morgan and Peace Dollars program.

Due to a system error, you may have seen an estimated ship date of June 2021 when completing your purchase. As stated on our webpages and in the prelaunch emails, these coins will be shipped in October or November. While we regret the delay, this special coin is sure to be a standout addition to your collection.

We appreciate your interest in the Mint's numismatic programs.

Maybe the 10 per household limit is too high for high demand and/or low mintage US Mint offerings. I guess the US Mint will notify us when the 2021 Morgan or Peace Dollars will be scheduled again.
