Did you switch the coins or had that happened previously? The case labeled 1822 holds an 1832, while the 1832 case holds an 1822.
My condolenses on the '22 if it was the one you "paid big $$$ for this and every dealer that has seen it says its amazing. but maybey artificially toned. but i belive 65+ details..." 1822 Capped Half, RARE, Look at these coins... http://www.cointalk.com/t76635/
Other than the dates switched, I don't see the problem. the '32 look XF, maybey low AU. The '22 looks scrubbed up by the pics. Maybe it is the lighting, but it sure look bright to me if it is supposed to have original surfaces.
The 1932 (labeled as a 1922) probably has the right grade. (Maybe AU if being generous) The 1922 (labeled 1932), I can tell no details on it, photos aren't good enough to make out details. Only thing that is messed up is probably the the bad slabbing! (LOL!)
I dont see what your talking about...the holders look right to me. It's the coins that have the wrong dates on them lol
I didn't vote as I take it as offensive to say someone(s) is(are) retarded. If you would say incorrect or nonobservative, that is fine, I would vote for that even though I find the grades close enough. Any person with brain dysfunction deserves sympathy and empathy more than derision. IMO. Jim
Oh great...more Political Correctness... Well I didnt vote because I take offence to people being so readily offended. You know if this keeps up "brain dysfunction" will be taboo too so you should think about that too...
lol back to coins then that right one looks very nice just wish it wasnt cleaned...or would it look that good then?
I am glad to see that NGC has taken the bold step of hiring the sight impaired to grade coins. In another thread I remarked that I had never seen a bustie that looked like that 1822, but the op from that thread said there were no hairlines, I asked what magnification they looked at it with but no answer. heck, twere me I'd resubmit it to another service, if as the op stated there were no hairlines, but I would look at it with high magnification, and under a black light, before I did.
FWIW, most of us guessed that the "32" was cleaned/dipped when you first posted it. As for the 22, you had it in hand, we did not. I can believe it might have been AU, but XF seems a bit extreme. Maybe they got more than the dates mixed up. Oh!, and the colors do not quite look the same between these pictures and the originals you posted.
jim well said a lot of fokes here likes to degrade the person with a coin i am glad there is some of us here that has some respect for others dave i didnt vote
It's different when a family member is mentally challenged. You see the use of that word differently. It's not from a 50's television show....
