I think you are referring to Potty dollar's post, not paddyman.

What I meant is its just this year then they do the women of America thing, then the do the 250 year anniversary in 2026, and then I dunno. In truth it's the fall back design when they have nothing else to offer now so it's gonna skip years and stuff.

I don't think it's gonna be a very "album friendly" design if you know what I mean.

I bought the silver proof set this year to get both quarters. It's nice they brought the original obverse on that quarter. I never cared for the obverse they started using with the state quarters. I haven't found any in circulation but, I have found the cent, nickel and dime.

Some consider it a minor incident in the Revolution, but given the loss of New York to the British and increasing desertion on the revolutionary side, it provided a morale booster and gradually entered into the war's folklore. From what I've read, Washington led a few surprise attacks across the river on Hessian troops hired by Britain. They managed to take prisoners and supplies, which apparently caused delays upstream in British movements. It pales in comparison to the victories at Saratoga and Yorktown, but it later became one of Washington's key celebrated victories as he became the first president. Opinions on its true military significance seem to vary, again, from what I've read, but it was at least a small victory for a cause that, at that time, really needed a boost.

And, of course, to get to the other side... which is true, really...

Right up front I'm from Poughkeepsie, NY, I don't know where the Slauson cut off is or is this a joke. Poughkeepsie is mentioned in Law and Order, Good old Lenny said something about it. Every once in a while that city is mentioned.

I don't know. We all have limits on amounts that we will pay for stuff. The "D" I got brand new from a roll in change at the gas station. The "P" I got from a friend at the Credit Union. I gave $3 for the Proof at the LCS. That just happens to be less than what I spent at Starbucks on my way home from picking it up.
I do however, completely understand your point.

It was on Christmas Eve as well. If anyone's interested, back in 2011, Glen Beck put out an excellent book called "Being George Washington" that I thought was a fascinating read. The story of what actually went down which is pictured on this quarter is incredible. These people were tough and the pay wasn't good. In fact they marched in deep snow, through the night, while starving and poorly equipped, to surprise attack and fight on Christmas day. Notice the sheets of ice floating on the water.
