I found this in the same roll I was wondering if the 5 on the date might be a die Chip or something else going on with it.

It’s a die chip. They’re fairly common on Lincoln cents.

 

Probably don't give them much value really don't matter I don't sell I'm a collector I love the hobby.

Looks like a die chip that’s now flat from a hit, wear or both.

 

Thanks again make sense I've seen these on other coins mostly wheat Penny's. But I've seen these alot on the word liberty and the date I have some on the back of the letters you don't see that much I have a bunch 59 the R is filled up or the B Will be filled in on one side top or bottom. Thanks for all the information I know you mean well buy the way you talk or explain yourself you don't know how much that really helps me. I'm kinda New been doing this for a little while learn more buy reading how the mint department even worked plus figure out different errors and varieties what is the difference and what could have called yet still learning a lot on it. Let me ask you this I don't get it yet I am getting a lot of good coins but on the front there is a line cut into it pretty deep. I don't know if this is a error I heard this may happen at the counting machine or something like that you got any in site about that.

Yeah I would like to see them I got a bunch out of roll hunting I have them all put up take for ever to just find them may have some in 2x2.

 

I got that '83.

 

I seen an 83 on line where the whole eight was filled.Would that be from the same die run just got a little worse
