Had a good run with a recent consignment, so I have some extra funds. Having not added anything to the early Republican coinage part of the collection of late, I decided to purchase a coin I have been following for a while.

I finalized a deal with NAC for this stunning 'Staff series' denarius yesterday. It is among the finest specimens of the type I have seen. The amazing bust of Roma from a masterful die made me fall in love quite quickly, it is a perfect fit for my early Republican symbol denarii part of the collection.

Feel free to share your Roma/Dioscuri - symbol/anonymous types. :hungry::)

Michael, great acquisition. Here is the example in my collection, hardly comparable to yours.

    Congratulations with this exceptional coin.

Place a very humble contribution here:

A bit of a ugly example this one, photogenic certainly not. You might not believe it but this coin in the hand is more attractive. Nevertheless did it escape the dance, it did not end up in a melting pot but in my Republican collection instead.

Anonymous AR Quinarius, after 211 BC, Roman Republic - Anonymous , Rome mint, 211-200 B.C.
Helmeted head of Roma right; V behind.
Dioscuri riding right; ROMA in linear frame below.
