I believe that the £1 was issued by the Palastine currency board between 1927 and 1944 (4 Issues)
    1-9-27
    30-9-29
    20-4-39
    1-1-44

On the front you have the Dome of the Rock and on the back the Tower of David (Jerusalem Citadel)

    Anglo-Palestine Bank Ltd

    Palestine £1
    16.5.1948-Green-Uniface

Then there was another issue 1948-51
Blue in colour printed by the American Banknote company

    Hope that this helps

Which curiously there is no printers imprint as is typical with currency from that era. Though now the USA is an ally of Israel, back then the situation was somewhat more tenuous and it was determined that it would be better to keep the imprint off for political reasons.

The Palestine then early Israel currency are something I would like to venture into sometime. The whole story of ABNCo printing the notes is fascinating and I read it on the web somewhere. The Anglo Palestine Bank even printed reserve notes in case the ABN printed notes were delayed or never delivered.

huh I dont know my grandpa has bundles of palestinian and early israeli currency, he always sends some back, brings some with him or when we visit he stuffs our suitcases with them. I am not sure what I am going to do with them at this rate lol

If the OP's one Palestine Pound note does not have a date it has to be from the Anglo-Palestine Bank issue of 1948-51 (Pick-15) . The earlier Palestine Currency Board notes all have dates on them. The later Bank of Israel notes are not denominated in Palestine Pounds.

    Pick 15 catalogs at $5.00/VG $30.00/VF $175.00/UNC
