I have the WHitman 5 coin holder for them but does anyone make a four coin holder for the mint set variety?
Are you talking about the frosted edged one like the proof coins from the mint come from? I have that one too, but i do not know of any where else that just has a four coin holder. Maybe try ebay if you haven't already done so. I'm not positive, but i think the proof 2009 lincolns came with only the four coins, if no responses by tomorrow, i'll look at my set and give you a positive answer.
I'm lost here. Why would there be 5? There are only 4 different types from each Mint or did someone find a 5th type? Or are they assuming your going to put in one of each from one mint and then add a proof? Since there are 4 Copper ones and Four Zinc ones with Copper on them, then there are acutally 8 different ones from each Mint. With 4 Copper ones from each Mint X 2 Mints = 8, 4 Copper plated ones from each Mint X 2 Mints = 8 and 4 Proofs of each, and if you add up all of them, there are 20 different 2009 Lincoln Cents.
There are actually five varieties of each design if you include circulating examples from Philly and Denver, mint set satin examples from Philly and Denver, and of course the San Fran proof. I still wouldn't think putting all five in the same holder would make an attractive display, however. So, yes I would have to agree the five coin holder is a bit odd!
FYI - The Whitman holder has one hole for the obverse and holes for the 4 different reverses... http://www.jakesmp.net/CSD_Theme_Holders/005_Harris_2009_Lincoln_cents_M.html
