I wouldn't go near that with GDJMSP's 10 foot pole...or Roy's 20 foot pole...if that was real they would have it in a slab...they would have it at some of the US most rare coin dealers and if they were selling it on ebay...why with only 1 feed back....nope...that is a scam if I've ever heard of one...

I don't think it really qualifies as a scam, since I can't imagine anyone falling for it.

 

Considering his history ($1,550 in bids+postage for 8 transactions since August - mostly slabbed coins from known sellers) he can't possibly be a shill.

Unless that bid is retracted or the "seller" files a non-paying bidder report, this little escapade is going to cost him a bunch.

 

with an auction selling amount that high, he can opt to pay via an escrow acount. he would be stupid if he doesnt. If the coin is for real (IMO-unlikely) then it is worth the price, but if its not, and he pays via escrow for verification, then he wont be out a dime. At that point, its the seller who would have questions to answer.

 

1 million was the starting price he hasn't hit the reserve price yet.

I found a good pic of an 1801 dollar at Heritage coin and compared to the pic on ebay. it's kind of funny, I don't know if the ebay coin is supposed to pass as an original, but unless the 1801 and the 1804 are different, its not even close!!

 

I have read to late....the ebay listing is GONE. Guess ebay agreed it was a scam too.

Chabot510 from the CU forum is the one who placed the bid on this. He just did it as a joke.

 

I tried to look at his history again and it said njrarecoins is "no longer a registered user".

 

His user name is Njcrarecoins. Is this the one you looked up? I looked and it didn't show that he had been NARU'd.
