1913 Barber Dime found in pocket change. It’s rare finding a silver coin anymore let alone one from 2 coin designs ago.
anything is possible, people have spent say Gold eagles e.t.c not knowing there made out of real gold!!!and worth around a grand rather than $10.
I've heard on podcasts about people putting stuff into circulation for fun so other people find it as a way to attract people to the hobby. Whether that really works or not I don't know. If it finds it's way to someone who's already a collector, cue the Price is Right failure tone I guess. lol But there are collectors and dealers who purposely dump stuff into circulation. How long it lasts out there who knows. This is more likely the scenario than it was spent from a collection, or that it's just been floating around since 1913 in a roll somewhere.
A lot of cashiers I ask when checking out. I ask if they have any dollar coins or half dollars, etc. In this day and time right now, some are using them for purchases.
Nice find! If that puppy has been floating around in circulation since 1913, let it retire. It served its purpose and did some time, so let it rest in your (or my) collection!
You got that back in change, in ny? Yo, @paddyman98 , this guy is finding better stuff than you, without a metal detector. ..! Just kidding, your finds are awesome.
