Do you think someone maybe squeezed it in a vice? Channellocks would leave a ribbed edge, and this one looks pretty smooth, so I'd think you can probably rule those out.
Damage and circulation wear and tear,doesn't really matter how it got damaged but your a newbie it seems like so I understand.
