    I bought this raw 1921 SLQ recently and am excited to send it in and get it slabbed / graded! Currently I have two 1921s - an ANACS G4 and an ICG G6, Details, so this is hopefully an upgrade. Seeking informed opinions and it will be fun to see what it comes back as, which I will post in the future. IMG_4125 (2).JPG IMG_4123 (2).JPG IMG_4126 (2).JPG

    About a VF-25, I think. Nice looking coin and a tougher date.

    Hello MIGuy
    Definitely a large 'step-up from' your 'Good' graded examples. I would agree w/ Publius2 & may even go up from 25 to a 30 VF.... Congrats on getting this difficult semi-Key.
    Very nice coin,
    J.T.

    I always under grade circulated Standing Liberty Quarters. It looks like a VF-30 to me, but I'll bet you it's headed for an EF-40 holder. My grade is based on the brighter pictures.

    Vf 30 is my guess. Good looking coin. If it had a little more detail in the drapery and shield I'd give it a 35-40

    VF35 on the obverse in my opinion.

    I think the reverse hurts this coin's grade. I thought the obverse was more like a 30 but the reverse was definitely no better than a 25. Under the old rubric that the reverse can't help you but it can hurt you, that's why I thought it was about a 25. OK, maybe a 25.7.

    Anyway, I love the SLQ and this is a nice circulated example.

    I recently bought one with a similar look. I'll guess VF30.

    I just got the email from ICG (no pictures in holder yet) and the grade is... VF25 Details (shucks on the details!). Still quite a nice upgrade for me, and well done guessers! Also, turnaround time was a remarkable 5 days from when they acknowledged receipt to when they notified me they are shipping back on Economy tier. My first economy turnaround was 3 weeks total from when I mailed to got it back, my second was 10 days, and now 5 days (not including shipping time). That's pretty amazing service.

    Yeah, it looks cleaned and partially retoned. Bummer on that, as I have seen coins just like that residing in a straight graded slab.

    TBH..I don’t know the series that well, or how TPGs grade these? But I’ll say 30?

    OBV= XF
    Rev= VF

    Therefore, VF-30

    That's a tale of two pictures. In the first picture, the coin's obverse is a solid XF. In the second, darker, picture, it's a VF, maybe a 30 on a good day. Reverse looks VF. I'm guessing the "Details" judgement is based on that pitted area on the eagle's tail.

    I really can't tell from the images about the purported cleaning. I'm surprised it didn't grade.
