Good morning! I’m sure it’s nothing, considering that’s mostly what I find, lol! But I was just taking a quick glance at a new roll of quarters I got the other day and came across this one I noticed right away it was different. Not sure if this is post mint damage or something better, so I just wanted to weigh in on everyone’s opinion. So, whatcha think? And as always, big huge thank you’s to all for taking your time and having a look! And your opinions- ALWAYS!
I think it might be a strike through. happens when dirt gets in the die and it is struck on the coin.
Planchet flaw or severe gouge...really a poor quality result...there is some die deterioration going on too...jmho...Spark
My dear, I believe you have a keeper. It looks like a strike through to me. Probably dust or dirt, maybe a small piece of cloth that after striking fell off of the coin. Very nice find and a definite keeper. Please protect it and congrats.
Here’s a few close-ups- not sure if they help, but considering my photography skills- this is as good as I can get! Lol!
The nice thing is that’s it’s a newly released coin. A 2021 issue! That should bring a smile to your face.
I know, right?!! I still can’t even get coins from my bank, so we’ve gotten to know all the employees at this gas station close to us & they let me swap out rolls!! Even call when they get a new order!! I usually don’t go for new rolls, but I got bored! Lol! But I got this roll, all new and a roll of all new 2020’s with the pretty butterfly- as my youngest daughter says!
My oldest son thinks that this quarter has an asteroid smashing into the building! And now that he’s said it- that’s what I see too! Lol
Oh my gosh. The planes are missing their propellers! LOL It also appears to me as a strike through debris, but not worth enough to buy that Corvette. LOL
