US Mint Site Struggling Now

I tried to buy the Morgan dollar.... site is struggling..... I got to the Confirmation page and it loaded this a few times.



Finally, after I eventually confirmed my order, it told me that my shopping bag was empty. Is that because it went through? Or because it sold out and cancelled it during processing? I went to go to my Account page > Order History and it showed me this error:

I'm not sure if my order went through or not. I checked my credit card, but it shows no transactions. Is it just backlogged? Do I place another order? I don't want to end up paying for multiples....

I called the US Mint, and customer service goes straight to a constant beep sound so they're busy talking to others. Phone just hangs up afterwards. There's no hold feature...

When I go back to the product page for the Morgan, I'm unable to even reorder (because it sold out... )

Same thing here. The Mint's webserver just can't handle the volume. Looks like a lucky few will get these coins and the rest of us will have to pay outrageous prices from dealers.

 

Gottem both, but I had to order them one by one. Took me 20 minutes to get the 'cc'.........went in again for the 'O' and scored it with a minimum of hassle.

 

They just sold out. Bummer!

Dear US Mint:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

 

I went to go check my Order History after placing the order.... and it's offline so I have no idea if I ordered it or not lol.

 

same happened to me I don't think I got a coin.

 

What would be nice if the mint would let the items be ordered 1 per household for the first 24 hours, so the average collector to get one.
But we all know the US Mint isn't interested in the average collector.

 

Ugh... I managed to get a couple of each in my cart, but continuous server errors every time I tried to check out after entering my CC info... and now both items are no longer available

 

Why I hate the US Mint, and their handling of recent issues.

 

Reminds me of the case with one of the American Eagle silver coins a few years ago that had a small limit at the Mint. Now they're going for over $1000 at dealers.

 

they are still using cloudflare, I'm not sure if it's sold out or they just marked it unavailable. for sure the units available SHOULD have lasted longer than half an hour. it was 175K.

Website says:

• Pre-ordering window starts May 24 at noon and closes on June 7 at 3pm ET or until inventory depleted

it's a possibility they are doing something to mange how many are available on any given day, I don't know though for sure.

Sure sounds like they set up a 2 week "pre-order" window on an item they expected to sell out in the first couple hours tops for some reason.....

 

They just sold out. Had them in my cart and got the sold out, please remove from cart. The Mint has to get their act together! They should have prepare for this in advance. Ebay is already placing orders of $170 and up a coin! Lease we still have the original Morgan and Peace Dollars for the price of $85 M/S 64 and up!

 

They took in over $30M in that short time frame before being sold out of the O and CC Morgans. That's over $1M/minute.

 

Well it shows just how much thought they are putting into things there.

With a history of chronic site issues with new releases they make the decision to have two coins in the same series go up at the exact same time. Ugh. It's the 2020 AGE/ASE story all over again.

I got one order confirmation in my email. Not sure what it is for yet as the order history sight is down. Pretty sure it's two "O"s.

 

The best thing to do is for ALL collectors to boycott the dealers that offer these up. You will see these presented as "Early Release", "First Day Of Issue" and all the other gimmicks that are available to the snake oil salesmen out there. Let them be stuck with the expensive slabs. I have several enrollments that I am now going to stop. Well, I was stopping this year anyway at the end of the current ASE and US Quarter ballast program.

I wrote a nasty email to the mints deaf and blind employees. Perhaps most should be sent in.

I managed to get mine.

Like everyone else it was a huge pain for me too. I kept getting a server crash message at every step of the way over and over until it finally went through.

But I like to think of it as luck of the draw
