I pulled you out of the ignore list, figuring, no sense in doing that forever, and you have proven me wrong. And BTW - 24 years old is not a kid. You are being a dullard.

maybe - I just see minimal defects or scratches and a new luster. Dimes tend to have exagerated looking nicks because of there size. I took a quick look at MS 68 dimes on ebay in slabs.

these also came out of circulation . Different local, but still.

That dime doesn't clear MS67 and 2020D has plenty of sharp strike examples that are well centered, I got one yesterday that looks better than the one posted and I can't get above MS66 on it.
Just being real. Maybe I grade my coins to harshly and if I sent it in it would come back MS69 or 70? We'll never know I won't be sending it for grading, but I might post a picture for comparison later.
I'd prefer to be hyper critical and surprised than the be too lenient and disappointed when it comes to grading.

I keep hoping I win a grand easy at the casino one day and blow it all on grading at PCGS for giggles to see what I get back from them on some nice moderns. That's not likely to happen though.

Actually to many on this forum, you are but a kid.
By he way in your own photo it is easy to see the small scratch in front of Roosevelts nose. In your original photos I can see luster breaks on the cheek. Although your dime is nice and well stuck. It is still a keeper. But it most definitely is not a 68. If you feel different then send it in and prove all that posted you are right.

    PS
Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them the antagonist. Why even start a thread if you think you are right and everybody else that responds is wrong?

There are the three hits you mention plus a couple more on the coin. Again, a very lovely example but these marks will result in the coin not getting close to MS68. Just too many hits. To get the MS68 grade you need a neatly flawless coin.

I've always suspected that this account (plus a few other MASH named accounts) all belong to the family of a banned member named Ruben who also uses the accounts.

Compared to the age and experience of many of the other members here...I am still a kid at age 36 with 25 years experience in this hobby.

That's OK. You don't have to hear my opinions. Heck, you can get rid of everyone that you don't agree with.
I take a different approach. I take all the opinions and use those to guide me and form my own. It's a great way to learn.

It‘s not only a member‘s age or experience as a collector, but primarily their behavior and etiquette which results in others calling them a kid.

In addition, posting a certified coin saying „I believe it could have graded a point higher because of X, Y and Z“ is different from posting a modern coin from circulation, claiming „that’s an easy MS68, but I won’t have it graded.“

This thread is getting beyond ridiculous :-D

I agree. I just didn’t want to upset him any further.

I'm not antagonistic to any criticisms of the coin or my grading. I am antagonistic to personal attacks, meta discussions (such as this), and cheeky one liners that don't promote discussion.

FWIW - I don't see the scratch you refer to or the luster break on the cheek. I am looking at the original, and the less than 2 cm between the nose the the work Liberty, I see nothing. Post your dime. I would like to see it. what grade would you give it?

Did you submit it? FWIW, I have no desire to win a grading lottery. I have a picture and it is in a flip and we are done with it :)

You had the chance to prove your point. I know you guys can produce much better images.

Grading isn't a lottery unless someone has no idea how to grade. It's a very predictable event

No you don't. You want everyone to tell you how right you are...that this coin is an "easy 68" and that you did an amazing job finding it. The reason I know this is you didn't ask any questions in your original post. All you said was we should check out the coin and that it was an "easy 68."

You got the following immediate reply to your grading statement (see first quote below) and you didn't like it. When you gave a snarky response (see the second quote below)...I responded with my own assessment backing up what @baseball21 had said. I said that it was a nice coin but not a 68...to which you replied "not that useful at all."

The only person here with "cheeky one liners that don't promote discussion" is you. If you want to have an educated discussion...then post a thread with more subject matter than "check this out" and outlandish grade opinions.
