I am not much of a modern coin guy, but I have been interested in the proliferation of West Point business strike quarters. Due to the generosity of a CT member, I have most of the West Point quarters. I been halfway thinking of doing a West Point business strike short set. Adding in the commemoratives would get silly expensive due to all the gold, but a business strike set I think would be quite manageable. The only other West Point business strike that comes to mind is the 1996W dime. Weren’t there some 2009W cents as well? I’m not seeing any in my Redbook but in my mind I was thinking we did a West Point cent in 2009.
Which W quarters are you missing, friend? If i have doubles, they're yours. This offer is only for @Randy Abercrombie, at this time. Sorry folks.
I think just the bat and the butterfly quarters. If you have extras, I’ll work you a swap in your favor. I bet I could dig up another of those walkers you enjoy so much.
Randy - The only business strike West Points you will need are: 1996W Dime 2019W Cents (there is an uncirculated business W, Proof W, reverse proof W) 2020W Nickels (only had a proof and reverse proof. No business strike) 2020W Quarters that you don't have already. (If I'm not mistaken, you have the Tall Grass Prairie)
And it just occurred to me that I may have just broken a cardinal CT rule. I apologize and will take it to a PM.
Nor do I! All I have are the 2019W Cents, just because I bought the mint sets for my youngest son's birth year set. I don't have the 96W dime or the 20W nickels. I have the quarters, as you know.
I have the dime. And now that I think about it, I have one of the 2019W cents. I believe I may make a run at this idea.
Does this involve me? If so, i don't want to make anything any worse. If not, I've got some pics of some butterflies to show you.
There you go, now I am wondering how many of the different W's I have. And, it gives me a project to check them out. I'll use the official list from @furryfrog02 as my guide.
By no means is that official lol. It was officially off the top of my head. I could've missed something.
I just looked and I have all the W cents and nickels. I have one W quarter with the WW II privy mark.
American Samoa 2020 W with the V75. I have it in an Air-Tite and would have to pry it out to photo it.
I don't remember everything they've done, but West Point in the past has made business strikes to help out the supply. They were not marked though to prevent them from being hoarded, so for all intensive purposes they don't exist
I have a few extra 2020 W's of SOME designs. If any of you are in need PM me and i'll be glad to help if I can.
