As of this afternoon I confirmed this note. It is the 9th Tom Flynn Note in the Collection. I want to send out a "Special Thanks" to Glenn H he is a top notch guy. If any of you would like details to this Dealer, let me know..I will be happy to share this resource. Just PM me if interested. I am super thrilled with this Woodchopper and hope to take physical possession in early January. This Fr#73 is now home with the other Flynn Notes....the Large Brown Seals are really special but there is something about the plain Red Seal and Blue Serial Numbers as well... RickieB
Wow ,,,! what a beautiful WoodChopper ! plus a Flynn, early christmas present. Congrats Rickie on a nice pick up !
Rick, what a stunning note filled with lush type faces! Just look at the design of the top of the letter "t" in United States on the front and the rotated text on the right side of the face "Act of March 31, 1863" just hiding over there! WOW! And is there a watermark portrait in the blank space on the reverse as well? Wonder who or what is pictured there? A real beauty! Thanks for sharing.
that note is sweet. the contrast of the red and blue with the black just really pops nice pick up rickieb :thumb:
Thanks guy's it is welcomed into the collection for sure. I went to Heritage and purchased the Volume #2 CSNS Catalog from April 2008 on the Tom Flynn Auction. Pg# 501 upper right corner of the page list's this note. Here is the Quoted Catalog description: "Fr.73 $ 5 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.The most common of the three signature combinations of this type, with 199 examples listed in the Track &Price Census. Unlike most Type Notes, this piece is actually more common in 63 and above than it is in the circulated grades. This 64 EPQ is bright, well embossed, and it carries twp positive comments, both "Exceptional Paper Quality", and "Great Embossing". From the Thomas M. Flynn Collection." Mr. Flynns collection was massive and this Heritage Catalog serves as a reference, documenting his work. RickieB
Looks like another great note Rickie! I'm not seeing a picture of the front though, did you post one? I would love to see both sides.
