NGC Registry Set error message

I don't go out of my way to buy slabbed coins, but I do occasionally purchase coins that are in slabs. Along the way, I've started adding these items to my registry set collection with NGC (which is an interesting tool). IMO, it seems that these registry sets are providing different feedback to collectors than was the case in the past, and they are causing some unexpected shifts in how people approach assembling collections (based on the points system).

Anyway, I had a strange error crop up today while adding an item. This is an NGC slabbed piece, which usually adds automatically when I punch in the code. The error message was as follows:
"This coin cannot be added to your inventory at this time. We will review this coin and you will be notified of the results.

1931-DATED PRESIDENT DOUMER DUATEL (72.5mm) BRONZE FRANCE
    MEDAL MS 63 BN CAC"

The medal I have in hand does not have a CAC jellybean on it. I'm wondering if it did at one time? Or do I possibly have a counterfeit item that attempted to duplicate the NGC code someone had posted online (in other words, a counterfeit medal complete with counterfeit slab)?

They usually have to verify a PCGS coin and email you after when it gets accepted. You say it's NGC, but are you sure you entered it correctly?

could be a few things but the PCGS dot being clicked might have been the answer to why it delayed. could be a counterfeit, could be a redundant NGC number, or a mis entered slab number, could be a lot of things besides, they will send you an email on what happened or when it's approved.

Does the slab number come up when you search it?

NGC button was clicked, and the right description came up on the error message (except for the CAC note). I'm hoping it's just a glitch.

Maybe someone else still has it listed in their registry and forgot to remove it when it was sold?

Not to change the subject, but at 72.5mm, this medal must be in one of the NGC oversized slabs. Since I have a sizable collection of French medals, I would love to see photos of your medal. TIA! ~Chris

Yep, it's one of my larger pieces. Half dollar for scale (I obscured the registry number, as I do on most postings to stop slab counterfeiters).

Thanks for posting it! One of my larger medals is the 1947 Vincent Avriol, President of France. It, too, is bronze and was designed by Poisson. It is 86mm and weighs a whopping 12.09ozs/342.8gms. I love the art deco reverse of this medal, and the only real reason I bought it is because I was born in 1947. I wish I had a photo of it, but I don't.

That was my initial thought, but usually when you enter a coin that was in someone else's registry, it says something to the effect that 'this coin is currently registered to someone else, and if they don't dispute/lay claim, it'll be yours'.

Your message was something I haven't seen, and I'll be interested to hear what happens, as well as what others say.

I'm still unclear on what's going on. But it appears that NGC added it to my inventory, but considered it unworthy of a pointed registry set, so it's hidden and can only be accessed through the custom registry system?

I'm unclear why they would do this. Some of my So-Called Dollars are not considered "point worthy" but still show up in the regular system. And, it's just plain odd that NGC would choose to alienate any collectors by treating their chosen area of focus as somehow less worthy than other equally obscure numismatic fields.
