I'm waiting for the day the Mint sells them for what they're sold for on eBay.

Just look at what foreign mints charge for things. It's smarter to leave some meat on the bone but it could happen

I'm thinkin' NO. Wish it were, but I think we're gonna be stuck at the computer (at the appointed hour) fighting to get one or two......

The Mints job is the sell the coins. They sell out, doesn't matter to who, they are 100% successful. So why would they care as long as they get sold?

from the mint website one of the clear security features is they left out reeding on the bottom edge around 6 o'clock 12 o'clock on the reverse. they also lightend the details on the obverse and sharpened the heck out of the details on the eagle on the reverse.

On the obverse they moved the alignment of the ray going through the L, and and the "AW" mark if it strikes well won't come out right if copied. looks like they kept the head and shoulders on the obverse strong, buy lightened way up on the dress and flag except for the stars some of the wrinkles in the dress got very subtle and I think if copied, would disappear. seems they really went all out on the eagle though. Highly detailed feathers, also going to be hard to copy correctly without losing the finning on some of the wing feathers.

Everyone has an opinion. My opinion, I like it.

I agree. The eagle details are outstanding!

Can you point out the missing reeding? I can't seem to locate where it's missing. I know you said 6 o'clock on the obverse, but from my viewpoint I still see it there.

I've always loved the ASE's. This release is an improvement for sure.

Hard to see, I circled it in black but the angle is bad, you can tell something is going on there. My guess is each year they will move it to a precise location around the rim.

I'm still looking for a better picture, but they leave out one or two reedings leaving a smooth gap as far as I can tell.

20210517_Screenshot_2021-05-17-American-Eagle-2021-One-oz.jpg Much easier to see what they are doing with it on the picture of the 1 oz gold proof from the mint website: the other pictures are terrible to really see it.

Considering these are almost certainly artists renditions and not photos of actual coins you really can't say anything about what the edge may or may not be.
