I was glancing at my collection the other day--I have had them stored for a while--and I noticed that I have a couple bicentennial quarters that do not state which mint it is from. Does anyone else have these? Any information about these would be very beneficial. Thanks!

If there's no 'D' mintmark on the obverse, it sounds like you have coins from Philly. They were not using a 'P' mintmark during that time period.

The "P" mintmark was added to the dollar in 1979, and to everything else, except the cent, in 1980.

    Hmmm

Now I am really perplexed, I'll have to wait until I get home (I'm celebrating my grandmother's birthday in another state currently) but I am pretty certain I have some with the "D" and some with the "P" marks, just two do not. I will try to scan when I get the opportunity.

Thanks to all for helping :)

If you have a genuine P mintmark bicentennial, name your price! ;)

    It is absolutely unique.
