Hello @Mackie! Welcome to CoinTalk :) Some pictures for evaluation would be helpful! ;)

Danomite What do you say uh-huh

Welcome to CT. You need to post full clear (not thumbnail) pictures of both coins. You will get better opinions that way.

We definitely need full size photos of both sides. Welcome to CT.

Some Morgan Dollars had eight tail feathers in 1878. Part way through the year, the design was modified to seven tail feathers. There are coins with seven over eight tail feathers. For all of the rest of the series, the eagle had seven tail feathers.

If the reverse you are showing is paired with dollars dated 1880 and 1884, I think you might have a couple of Chinese counterfeit coins. The Chinese counterfeits have been known to pair inappropriate dies together to create pieces that did not exist previously.

Yeah, unfortunately those are counterfeit. Only some of 1878s had 8 tail feathers.

Here is an 1878-S eight tail feathers Morgan Dollar.

Sadly, you can't just buy Morgan Dollars with total confidence any more unless you know the series. This applies even to the common dates.

Here is a set of 1878 Morgan Dollars that I built for my collection. If you want to go into more detail with these coins, I can post it.

Both this coins look like fakes to me. Not only are the tail feathers wrong but other details are “off” as well.
