Submitted for comment below is a coin obtained 40 years ago. Re-examining it, I noticed it that it appears to be an 1859/8 of the 'triple G' in 'REG' type. It is fortunate that the item, though in low grade, (perhaps good 4-6) had smooth decent surfaces, such that, there was enough left to confirm the attribution. In addition, the reverse exhibits 4 disconnected leaves and an almost missing vine piece to the right of the leaf in reverse image 4. Yes, your triple "G" is one of the scarcer 9/8's with that Obverse being on about 2% of the 9/8's minted. There were 14 different Obverse dies used for that coin and 14 Reverse. The broken stems are very common and on almost every '59. The vine break at leaf 13 is normal and you should also see evidence of a vine break at leaf 7 (numbering starts at 12:30 CW. Too bad so much wear and heavy cleaning.
