I just bought a 1923 Peace Dollar for 14$ including shipping. With silver at 19$ and this being 90% silver, should this not be worth about 17$ melt!!!:hatch:

Try $14.27. Look at http://www.coinflation.com/coins/silver_coin_calculator.html. You are assuming that a silver dollar contains 1 oz of silver. It does not. Net = 0.77344 ounce silver.

Nope at the current Spot Price $18.26 and being .7734 OZ of Silver it's melt worth is $14.12

You need to write the Red Book and tell them there is only ".7734" ounce of silver in the silver dollar and then tell coinflation that "Dec 04, 2009 NYMEX closing price" ($18.45) is also wrong.

I'll do that but if you re-check your calculation and use the actual spot price as of now and not last Friday's closing price you'll see even on Coinflations calculation of .7735 it still adds up to $14.12.. :secret:

Depends on how you want to round it. It's actually .77345 ounces.

It all depends on the dollar. I'm going against the grain and predicting that it will increase in value over the euro. Thus, silver and gold will drop by 10% in the next 12 months.
