The reason that no one is encouraging you to show your coin to everyone is that there is no need. The shape of the 2 is not the only difference to the two coins. compare the top of the 1 to the top of the 9, the levels are different between your coin and a small date but they are the same between your coin and a large date. Now go take on the day.
Didn't this troll say he was sending it in to be graded in the last thread he posted? Pretty sure he did. What happened @Cointop Smith. Send it in and post the results. You are so confident then prove it.
Just end this already i have a feeling this isn't going to end well just stop feeding the flames and move on.
The Cent in question shown in this thread is only worth 1 Cent. Because it is not what he thinks it is. The only two and attributed Small Date Copper Cents with D Mint Mark that have ever been discovered are worth thousands. Here is the article on the second one found.. https://www.numismaticnews.net/worl...all-date-copper-alloy-lincoln-cent-discovered
The bottom of the 2 does not straight line to bottom of 8 .. Is LARGE date. send it in for grading .. Chuckle x2
I’ve always said this is a large date. I have never acted like a fish on a hot blacktop. I’ve never changed my opinion on this coin. It’s a small date and it’s worth one cent. Please send this to a TPG and have it graded if you are so convinced that I and other members are mistaken. If you are correct I will apologize for my mistake as I hope you would.
Thank you so kindly. I was not understanding what you folks where exactly meaning. I darn sure do now friends. I was blinded by only a little arrogance and I let myself be very very very foolish. I would like to apologize to everyone here at CT for being a fool myself. Thank you for all those of you that didnt stop making your case. Y'all ought be lawyers. Your damn good to get through my hard #ss head. Lol. I was very wrong. And y'all taught me a great lesson. I owe yall more than an apology, for real. I'll take a new name if y'all will choose what it will be. But if after a year I'm still acting like I should then you guys vote to see if I can go back to my original username. Please forgive me. Keep your awesome smiles smiling.
Takes a big person to hold up their hands and admit they were wrong. There are a lot of folks here who have seen a lot of how coins are damaged, how to identify varieties etc. When there is a consensus of answers you gotta believe that it is almost certainly the right answer. Keep up the hunt, that is where the fun should be. Finding something genuine is the icing on the cake. Good luck
Just remember that all we have to go by is your photos and what you say. No one is out to get anybody but we do get riled up when the OP argues with so many of us. You’ve learned and now you understand so don’t let it bother you, just say with us and learn more.
I hope you don't think this comment was directed towards you, what I mean is that I wish there was a sticky forum for people that are new to error's and varieties or even people like me that have some knowledge but don't know everything. Call it a learning error/variety. But with that people that post should be willing to take advise from the more knowledgeable and not continue to stomp their feet and say what they have is what they have and if they do they get a point against them. I understand that people get it in their head they have something but some of these guys on this forum have dedicated alot of time studying coins and have no reason to give false information.
You don't know Jack about coins and you call people fools? Quit looking at the 2 and look at the 8. The eight is a large date variety.
