Is this type of error worth anything? Look at the raised areas on the head.

    Hi,

A CUD involves the rim of the coin so what is on the numeral is a die chip and by definition is not a CUD.

The coin itself was either struck by a die that is showing signs of wear, or there is a lamination, as it is called, on the surface of the cent.

    Thanks,
    Bill

It's a "cracked skull" cent. For some reason, cents from the late 1950's develop die cracks, die chips, and the occasional retained interior die break on Lincoln's head. These are very common and have little market value.
