    Nice blow hole, Joe. I always wonder how those get out of the mint without help and then they are found before any circulation wear. I can see this one sneaking through the machines and getting into the bag, so some lucky person found it before it actually got into circulation I guess.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that the minting process is automatic and that once a coin is struck it is automatically ejected into the "ready to use" bin, and that unless a mint employee is standing right there watching every coin that is struck, it goes into the bin and is almost immediately covered up by other struck coins, and from there it goes to the bagging area, where it is bagged, either by count or by weight(most likely) and then distributed to banks? or elsewhere.
    So, If I'm correct, it's not really that hard for error coins to escape the mint. I mean, think of all the other error coins that escape the mint.
