Need to cut out and take better photos. Yes those are die scratches in the coat collar and polishing lines r in the fields. Very good luster. Oh FS as well. DSCN2790~2.JPG DSCN2791~2.JPG

I just purchased a couple of new ones.

The 1796 NC-2 is at PCGS for slabbing. I never thought I'd do it, but it needs to be treated like the rarity it is.

This is an S-90 and the last of the RARE 96 Liberty caps I needed. I worked backward acquiring the R5s first. While low grade, it has solid attribution points. I have no idea whether I got a good price or not because the prices are all over the place on this variety. It may have recently fallen from R5+ to R5.

Interesting note - This Reverse is also 1797 Reverse A.

Now this is a common variety, but it is a very rare terminal die state and all those I've seen are in low grade in this state. It has the sharpest die state detail for the state I've seen, even with the poor obverse.

I'm not sure how much real value I acquired here because of general condition, but since I got these all back in change at face I think I did OK. My LCS Guy is on freakin' vacation. I'm gonna put them in sleeves and then they'll go into the "Coin Club" basket.

Another new arrival. Some nice color on the reverse that my picture doesn’t capture.

The line on the reverse above the F in half is a luster graze and not a scratch. I think this may have been in an album because of the reverse toning and a bit of "cabinet" rub on the bottom of the bust. 1953 D Franklin Half Dollar. Looks close to FBL as well. I was pleased with this purchase. But when I received them, both had provenance beyond anything I could have imagined:

Here’s a Trade dollar that just came my way as part of a larger collection. Definitely cleaned, but otherwise nice details remain.
