Click their name, then click on ‘Profile Page’. It states ‘Coin Talk - Error’.

It means the Pond Scum is gone!

He started another thread which I think has since been deleted. Very clear evidence there he was a troll, complete with a second account praising him, and the various fecal references (as someone suggested before - sounds like it was our ‘old friend’)

Dang. 6 year old car and the tranny is out already huh. I'd get rid of it and buy a nice used honda civic. Spend all that extra money on better coins ;)

Are we still on this topic that was brought on by someone that isn't even a member of CT? How many entries have been made because of this immature idiot that can't think straight?
Please, please, please have this thread erased. It is not serving any purpose but to tell us how bad our financial planning is.

Yes my wife knows everything that goes on with OUR money. Hers is mine and mine is hers. It's been like that for over 42 years. She knows everything. I have 3 hobbies and she has a say in it as much as I do. From all my coins, my 8 guitars, 7 large guitar amps and 42 small amps that are copies of the larger amps but not exact replicas because they are working amps with 3 to 4 inch speakers. And a collection of Hot Wheels including some redlines from 1968 to 1977.
I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life or how to handle your relationship with your wife but keeping things from your wife, the woman you love, is not good at all.

I put my foot down when the mechanics said it would cost us over $9K to repair my wife's Honda Acord. The check engine light kept coming on.

I would hate to upset you kind hearted people. This last post just confirmed I'm right. So hard and critical. That guy is metally I'll. Why not just ingor him.

  17. I worked on imports for over 50 years, mostly sports cars. I can tell you that german cars are not as well made as they were post WW2 thru the early mid 60th. I had a lot come in with trans problems and in most cases the parts to fix them are not available thru a dealer. if you check with an independent shop that specializes in german inports. By the way my last sport car was a BMW 6 that my son destroyed. Tried to avoid some deer .

The thread has dragged on so long that I can't remember what has been said, me as well as others.
Anyway, when my wife's mother passed, she got her 2003 Toyota Corolla CE. It was in great shape when she got it, but then she hit a dear and did $2,000 worth or damage. We had comprehensive and we had to come up with $500. Although it cost more to fix it than the value Blue Book said it was worth, but it was her mother's car and we used it to take our pets to the vet. It was the car that they were most comfortable with. When we got it back, it drove like a new car. About 2 years later, she ran into another deer (as you can tell, we live way into the country. After the insurance company paid for the last accident when the car was totalled, we only had liability this time. We had to make a decision to either get rid of the car or fix it. The repair cost $1,500 with no insurance. We repaired it again. Insurance companies don't repair totalled cars. We fixed it and now she drives it again. Now the A/C isn't working and the dealer said it would cost about $1,300 to fix it. I told my wife that the car is now a winter car only. We have a 2007 Toyota Camry LE, 40,000+, a 2015 Toyota Camry SE 45,000, and a 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD, so why do we need the Corolla...because our pets like to ride in it when they go to the Vet.
There is a lot of common sense in this, but I can't see it. Anyway, I could sell one of my gold coins and have the Corolla fixed again, but I think it's my wife that needs fixing. (Plus, We are going to have to have our roof fixed on our house that is in the city. (I love my wife, or I would never go through all this, the same as she tolerates my coin hobby.)

Oy vay iz mir. Not this thread again! You all remember that the guy who started it was a misogynistic troll who threatened various members (including me) and got banned (more than once, under different names), right? His whole story was clearly a fabrication. Please let it rest, and post your own stories about unexpected car repair costs in the General Discussion forum, not here. Much appreciated.
