I bought two rolls of NEW 2009 LINCOLN PROFESSIONAL YEARS PENNY ROLLS P&D. Sellers states that they say 1ST day Of Issue on Box. I noticed these 1ST Day of Issue coins graded and slabbed are selling for like $50-$80 each . Any possibility these are really 1ST Day of Issue Rolls? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...477810&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_500wt_1182 Thanks...
I finally have found about five of these in circulation...I have numerous of the first two...so when does the last one of these come out into circulation?
Yes, they are most likely from a 1st day of issue box. You realize however, that you won't be able to get them graded as such ...don't you?
I have Springfield Rolls Stamp AUG 13. And even Have some that are Denver Rolls.. The Springfield Post Office was stamping them 30 day AFTER the event.. I was able to sell the sets for 30.00.. Now maybe 10.00.. Maybe.
Oh I see....I was wondering how they could grade them as 1ST DAY. Not sure how they do can tell they are !st days .
There is a thread or ten about the whole "First" Label on coins.. A lawsuit or two.. In reality there is no such thing.. Now Ebay is still the Way to go.. I am selling my Pennies out now..
Grading companies can tell because the sealed box is shipped directly to the company. Once it's opened, there is no way to tell a first day roll from a roll created yesterday.
Threads like this make Leadfoot cry. . . . . . . . . . . . . . <----------------------------------------------
Lather, It's not that, at all. Its the fact that the mint (and the TPGs) even markets these coins as such, and that beginning collectors seem to flock to them that I am sad -- sad for numismatics...Mike
I agree, this is nothing more than a market hype. People are being cheated out of their money by greedy companies. It's sad.
