I’m curious how many of you will be attempting to buy one or more of the Morgans that the Mint will be selling on the 24th?
Not happening with this old man. Done with all the hoopla items and most of the rest of what they make.
The mintages are too high and their prices are too high as well. If I was to buy one it would be the Peace Dollar, but there's a fat chance on that idea!
No and im glad to have never bought anything ever from the mint im a lucky one.If say they made proofs i would've considered buying at least one for around $50 or less.
Three things about them make me unhappy. The price, the way they are being marketed and they just do not look good to me. They look to me like a pale imitation of the originals.
Probably not. The shipping in October thing really killed basically all of my interest for any of them especially for something with such a high mintage
I was in until this last week when I saw how terribly this thing was going down. Nope, I am now going to pass.
If it was a 90%er, probably, but not for something that is another marketing ploy. Way too expensive.
I've got a medical procedure that morning, but I may consider it, if I'm in that sweet spot between "still too sedated to work the browser" and "no longer sedated enough to think it's a good idea".
No. I have been buying from the mint since 1959. I have had enough with the dozens of different coins put out each year. I got the last of the 10 year quarter run. Which came after the first 10 year quarter run. Now they are going to start another 10 year run. I will take what I might have spent on 2021 coins and put it towards enhancing and upgrading my collections.
At most, I will go for one Morgan and the Peace. Disappointed by the lack of proofs. I will NOT buy on the secondary market. Those pigs can choke on them.
I don't really want one to keep but seeing the presales on ebay kind of makes me want to try. Not like CT members alone can boycott and lower the demand for them. They will sell out either way, and a few extra dollars to spend could get me some good coins to barter with in the future. I'm torn. I don't think it's immoral on the secondhand markets part, I think that becomes acceptable when things become such as cash grab as they are now. Basically, 2021 Morgan is a short term move. As everyone with common sense would know. I still have time to be persuaded either way
