Interesting Podcasts - what to listen to next?

I listen to podcasts quite often - but it is always hard to figure out what to listen to next.
I kind of stumble around searching, try a few out and eventually stumble onto something interesting - sometimes even finding that gem that is so entertaining. But how many gems am I missing out on?

Please list any podcasts you find interesting.

    I will start:

-The History of Rome (Mike Duncan)
Very popular and most have listened to it - it is the gold standard for Roman history podcasts.

-The History of Byzantium (Robin Pierson)
Takes over from Mike Duncan's History of Rome podcast - follows the same format - starting from the collapse of the West in 476 all the way to the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Excellent.

    -Revolutions (Mike Duncan)
His next project after "The History of Rome" - exploring the world's great political revolutions.

    -Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
There is probably 60 hours of free content available.. much more is paid content. Extremely professionally done - and very entertaining. So many great episodes are free... 14 hrs on the Persian Empire, 6 hrs on the"Celtic Holocaust" - Caesar's subjugation of Gaul. A 4 hour episode called "Painfotainment" - which discusses the psychology behind gladiatorial contests and other types of brutal entertainment. Amazing.

    -Dan Carlin's Hardcore History Addendum
Shorter quick hits (like 2-3 hours.. he can't help himself once he gets going) touching on a wide range of topics.

-History of the Crusades (Sharyn Eastaugh)
Over 300 episodes. I have only listened to a few so will not rate this one yet.

    -Revisionist History (Malcolm Gladwell)
Tag line: Revisionist History will go back and reinterpret something from the past: an event, a person, an idea. Something overlooked. Something misunderstood.
I enjoyed the first season but I have found the more it goes on the more he tries to pull at the heart strings or make sweeping moral judgement. Turned me off after awhile but maybe you will like it?

    -Coinworld podcast
Hour long episodes relating to coin collecting. As suspected 98% of the episodes are for modern collectors.. there are a few episodes about ancients but not much. They keep it basic when discussing ancients but they make an effort.

    -The Daily
I start my mornings with a coffee and The Daily.. a 30 minute podcast from the NY Times discussing a single relevant topic of the day. Gets posted about 6am. Wonderful podcast.

Please post any podcasts that you have enjoyed..

I suggest the Coin Show Radio with Mike and Matt. I am not sure of any others off the top of my head

The American Numismatic Society just began a podcast called The Planchet which is quite good - only two episodes in though.

I quite like the British Museum podcast

Medieval Death Trip is a great medieval podcast that looks at weird events written in medieval texts

Saga Thing is also a fun podcast if you like Icelandic Sagas

I haven’t listened to much on Ancient History, but the Planchet had an episode of Marc Antony, and the British Museum podcast has ancient stuff sprinkled throughout

I’ll add that I enjoy The Coin Show with Mike and Matt, but they rarely touch Ancients, and almost never mention medieval coins - they are very much American numismatics, and occasional world

same goes for the CoinWeek podcast

I really like Emperors of Rome from La Trobe University. Dr Evans is enjoyable to listen to.

I can't say enough good things about "The History of Rome", "The History of Byzantium", "Revolutions", or any of the podcasts that Dan Carlin has done.

I have been looking for another good history podcast but have yet to find one. I will have to check out the "History of the Crusades".

In the meantime, I have been listening to old "Car Talk" shows. I know next to nothing about cars but it always makes me laugh.

I downloaded the first 10 episodes of this and listened to it while searching a box of cents tonight. This is my new podcast. Thanks for the recommendation!

I also have enjoyed Duncan's History of Rome and Carlin's Punic Nightmares.

I tend to be in YouTube more often than not, so that where I've found some gems in areas I'm interested in. Here are a few...

Flash Point History has a 7 part series on the Punic Wars, plus much more!
    Part I: The Prelude

Invicta has a lot (!!!) of really great ancient content with amazing illustrations and visuals in more bite size of 15-20 minutes on really niche, but fascinating topics.

Video "reimaginings" of their podcasts, Fall of Civilizations Podcast are very good.
Episode 1, Roman Britain: The Work of Giants Crumbled

What a great thread! Lots of stuff I already knew, but lots I didn't.

Some I've enjoyed totally unrelated to coins or history:
Very Bad Wizards - a philosopher and a social psychologist taking about ethics, social sciences and anything that interests them. Not PC but I find them quite funny.
Scientia Salon - Michael Shermer as a part of the Sceptics Society talks to an author of a new book each week. Usually stimulating enough.
Adam Buxton's Podcast - I grew up watching Adam and Jo, and Adam just strikes me as a nice bloke. He chats to various interesting guest, and is quite funny to boot.

I'm up to Antoninus Pius in "The History of Rome" and it is fantastic. For someone who is just starting out in ancients like me, it is a godsend.

There’s a podcast on Spotify called «The Hellenistic Age Podcast».
It’s a podcast about the Hellenistic age.

I only touched on coin podcasts before - if we are talking history podcasts, I have loads I enjoy -

Medieval Deathtrip - weird title, but really good. Since the host has found a full-time university job, he hasn’t updated as much, but fantastic backlog

AGNUS: The late antiquity podcast - might be dead, but good stuff

Byzantium & Friends - cannot recommend highly enough

Saga Thing - Brilliant romp through the Sagas. Well worth to read and then listen for insights into Icelandic culture and literature

The Medieval Podcast - can be good with a good interview, but I admit the host gets annoyingly repetitive if she is just covering an event or idea by herself

The Planchet - American Numismatic Society podcast. Fairly new, but some fantastic episodes so far

I might add that I am not usually a fan of historical podcasts that just give a narrative - I prefer interviews with people who work in the field and are analyzing the works and providing us with new information
