I wonder how much these photos are different than in real life. I know my microscope didn't pick up half the colors on some of my coins. These look good here, but I imagine these all are brilliant in person.
It is all about the lighting. Most of us use a dslr and have 2-4 lights that we can move around to light the coin. We also have the ability to make adjustments to the aperture, fstop and white balance.
