Hello, This 2000 P Nickel, apparently is doubled die obverse; but when I checked in doubling sites, I could not find any, but searching on the internet, it comes with doubled die reverse. Doubling in obverse is very clear and distinctive! Are they genuine doublings or mechanical? Appreciate your comments.
I can certainly see why you thought it was a DD, but I believe it is just a very good example of Machine Doubling. Notice the flat, shelf-like appearance of the doubling. Nice find though.
It is a shelf-like appearance of doubling that I believe is a real doubled die, especially in the P mint mark!
Flat and shelf like, lower than the device and narrowing of the device are definitely not diagnostics of a doubled die
