Hello, like a lot of sellers, I decided to leave eBay because of their new policy for managed payments. Is there any other site out there for buying/selling coins that do not require bank account information?

Unfortunately, there really isn't anything close.

Usacoinbook is an alternative but it has a small fraction of the eBay buyers and sellers. Your other options are listing on the for sale sections of various forums (like here on CoinTalk). Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube all have coin communities for buying and selling too-but all are different and don't resemble the eBay platform.

Yeah, I guess they know they don't have really much competition. Thx for your reply.

They have competition - Amazon for instance. Heritage? Stacks? Why would anyone want to run an auction without getting your banking information? That suprises me.

I have done well buying and selling on Instagram before. It might take a while to gain a good customer base but if you follow a lot of people they will likely follow you back and see your posts.

I would agree. At some point in the chain, someone has your bank account information and if they don't, those platforms are slowly going away.

Usacoinbook, I check it once every few months and it's very slow for what I collect.

PayPal requires the same things. Just do what everyone should do for their online account, open a new checking account and keep the absolute minimum they let you in it and link that one. The bigger issue with coins for eBay is the number of small sellers that have been chased away from various policies and many of them were buyers as well.

I just made the switch. Have had no problems. I wanted mine in my bank anyway. I'm glad they've changed it. Although I was not looking the idea. Just go open a separate account just for ebay. That's what I've done.

There needs to be a mass migration to usacoinbook. I've used it. It's still in it's infancy but it has to grow. Its such a better option than ebay. Maybe if they get a new web designer and add some colorful buttons people will feel more comfortable saving 10% in fees?

I have some coins up for sale there now. I have them equally listed on ebay. I have yet to make one sale on usacoinbook. But the coins keep selling from ebay. I then cancel the usacoinbook BIN one the bid is placed on the bay. I hope to sell from there and take advantage of less in fees. I do mark my coins up and put the make offer on. It doesn't matter what you list it for most sales happen for me with make offer. People will quickly buy if they can get it for a little off asking price. That may be what's keeping buyers from buying on usacoinbook. But I do have the make offer on there as well.

It's good to hear what your experience has been trying to sell coins on usacoinbook.

I have been a very satisfied buyer from USACoinBook. I tend to buy multiple pieces at a time from the same seller when I find one that has items matching my area of interest.

I've made offers even when that isn't specified. What's really nice about USACoinBook is that they don't get in the way of buyer and seller communicating with each other like fleaBay does.

And PayPal payments are perfectly fine.

I disagree about making USACoinBook more appealing . . . It is all of the little crap that got piled onto a perfectly good business model which completely ruined eBay. USACoinBook is a good platform right now, and is growing. Changing it risks complicating it, and driving higher costs. I say leave well enough alone.

The USACoinBook site runs fast and is easy to use. A lot of changes would probably mess it up.

Finding a replacement for Ebay is like trying to find a platform more popular then YouTube.

These big corporations are monopolies while anyone can start a competitor they all work together behind the scenes to stay on top.

It would not surprise me if in the near future Ebay starts banning sellers for people's moral or political beliefs like every other giant has.

I used to like Esty until Amazon bought them.

Huh? Banning sellers for their moral beliefs? Which other “giant” has done this? Source?
